This training program consists of all the basic courses to enter into the early childhood program. The courses offered are Introduction to the childcare profession , Skills and Strategies , Fundamentals of Childcare , Child Abuse and Neglect, Shaken Baby, First Aid/ AED? and CPR. Graduates of the early childhood program will have the necessary certificates and training to enter the childcare field as a early childcare teacher or assistant teacher at Milwaukee Public Schools. Employment in this field will allow students to work in a childcare center/ childcare home/or school. Skills learned in the training program include DCF rules and regulations, standard work in early childhood, child development , skills needed to help children , people skills , communication skills , creativity/ flexiability and patience. Before the first day of class
When students complete the 3 week course they are referred to childcare centers that are looking to hire teachers and given resources that will enable them to apply for current positions at Milwaukee Public Schools.

Students must let the trainer know 3 days in advance if they are not able to attend the class and show good cause to why they are not able to attend the training , No refund will be issued , if good cause is accepted the student will be allowed to enroll in the next class that becomes available.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
